Commissions: large scale choral and orchestral works for Valery Gergiev and the Kirov Orchestra and Chorus (The Poet) for the 200th Anniversary of Alexander Pushkin’s birth; Gerard Schwarz, The New York Chamber Symphony and the New York Young People’s Chorus (Fields of Vision) for the Millenium; Dianne Berkun and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus (birdsong) for the opening of Zankel Hall; Gerard Schwarz and the Seattle Symphony (Dark Angel) for their 100th Anniversary; Frederica von Stade and Music in the Vineyards (The Journey); Chanticleer, and Yuri Temirkanov and the Baltimore Symphony for a Violin Concerto premiered by Vadim Repin, among others.
