School Enrollment On-Going

Welcome

Hoff-Barthelson Music School has achieved national recognition as a premier community music school for its unsurpassed leadership in education, performance and outreach. It is one of the largest community music schools in the country, serving more than 1,800 students from 50 Westchester municipalities and beyond. The faculty of 90 is drawn from the nation's most distinguished performers and educators.

EDUCATION
The School offers a comprehensive after-school and Saturday music program of individualized instruction in both classical music and jazz in combination with a sequential musicianship curriculum encompassing music theory, ear training and composition skills. Participation in large and small instrumental ensembles and chorus and frequent performance opportunities in a warm, familial setting is a hallmark of the School's educational philosophy and an integral part of the curriculum.

PERFORMANCE
There are three Orchestras, four Choirs, more than 40 chamber ensembles, a comprehensive Jazz Performance Program, three Flute Choirs, Master Classes by world-renowned artists, and informal performance opportunities for student peers and in public recitals.

PRESCHOOL CENTER
Young children are introduced to music through the Preschool Center program of Dalcroze-Eurhythmics music and movement classes, the Suzuki Program, and recorder classes.

SUMMERS
The School year is further enhanced by a five-week music, art and theatre Summer Arts Program and students may continue private lessons throughout the summer.

OUTREACH
The outreach program plays an important role in the School's mission to bring music to senior citizens, children, and the disabled and disadvantaged throughout the community. Students perform as soloists and in ensembles in schools, community centers, children's hospitals, assisted living facilities and retirement homes.

A nonprofit institution, Hoff-Barthelson Music School is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts and an affiliate of Arts Westchester.
